A thermostatic radiator valve with centre connection is the right choice when your pipework runs centrally from the wall directly beneath the radiator and you want the valve to remain neatly concealed. This Belrad valve combines an M30 thermostatic head connection with a 16 mm pipe fitting, finished in white to suit both contemporary and traditional interiors.

Is this product right for your installation?
This valve is designed for installations where the flow and return pipes emerge centrally from the wall, directly beneath the centre of the radiator. This is common in renovation projects where pipework has been chased into the wall, or in new builds with a clean wall-mounted installation. The M30 thermostatic head connection makes it compatible with most standard thermostatic heads, including those from Belrad.
If your pipes come up from the floor, or your connection points are located at the side of the radiator, a centre-connection valve for wall mounting is not suitable. Also check that your radiator has a centre connection in its bottom section, as not every radiator is available in this configuration.
Installation and use
A common mistake when fitting a centre-connection valve is that the centres of the flow and return pipes do not align precisely with the connection points on the radiator. Always measure the pipe centres before ordering and compare them with the radiator's connection centres. For wall-mounted installations, it is also important that the pipes protrude squarely from the wall; otherwise the valve will sit at an angle and the thermostatic head cannot be set correctly.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a centre connection and a side connection?
With a centre connection, the pipes emerge centrally beneath the radiator so that the valve sits out of sight behind it. With a side connection, the connection points are located at the bottom left or right of the radiator. Which type you need depends on the position of your pipework and the type of radiator.
Is the M30 thermostatic head sold separately or included?
The M30 connection indicates that the valve is compatible with thermostatic heads featuring an M30 fitting, but the thermostatic head itself is not automatically included. Check the contents of the delivery and order a compatible thermostatic head if one is not supplied.
Can I use this valve with an electric radiator?
No, a thermostatic radiator valve is intended for radiators connected to a wet central heating system. Electric radiators have no water connection and are controlled via a built-in thermostat or a separate switch. Browse our range of electric radiators for those options.
