A support bar for walk-in showers keeps a freestanding shower panel or angled glass screen firmly in place, even with daily use. This Aloni model works at a 45° angle and is adjustable between 30 and 60 cm, allowing you to match the exact distance between the wall and the glass in your installation. The finish is chrome, and the material is stainless steel.

Is this product right for your installation?
This support bar is designed for walk-in showers where the glass screen runs at a 45° angle to the wall rather than straight across. The adjustable length of 30 to 60 cm gives you flexibility if the exact distance between the wall and the glass edge differs slightly from the plan during installation. The chrome finish pairs well with other chrome shower fittings, such as a chrome shower mixer tap or shower set.
If your shower layout is fully rectangular and the glass meets the wall at a right angle, you will not need a 45° bar — a straight support bar or wall profile will be the correct choice. Also check that your wall construction is suitable for the fixing plugs: hollow walls or lightweight blockwork will require additional anchors, which you will need to source separately.
Installation and use
A common mistake when fitting a support bar is tightening the glass-side bracket too early. Secure the wall bracket firmly first, then adjust the bar to the correct length, and only then bring the glass bracket up to tension. This prevents the glass from being pulled out of alignment and avoids internal stress on the bar, which can cause the glass to crack.
Frequently asked questions
Can this support bar be fitted to any type of glass?
The bar is compatible with shower glass using a standard clamp bracket on the glass side. Do check that your glass thickness fits the supplied bracket. Laminated or toughened glass of 8 or 10 mm is standard in most walk-in shower installations and will generally work without issue.
What is the difference between a 45° support bar and a straight one?
A straight support bar runs perpendicular (90°) from the wall to the glass and is intended for layouts where the glass and wall meet at a right angle. The 45° variant is specifically designed for situations where the glass is positioned diagonally relative to the wall, which is more common in pentagonal or open shower configurations.
Can the bar also be used outside the shower, for example as a glass partition in a bathroom?
Technically, the bar can stabilise any glass partition positioned at 45° to a wall, provided the load remains comparable to that of a shower screen. The stainless steel construction is corrosion-resistant and handles moisture well. If you are unsure about a specific application, please seek advice via the Schwertz & Co showroom in Rotterdam.
